Our Trip out West

Randy and I took the kids out to visit with family in Utah and Idaho this past July.  The original plan was to drive, but not after too long we changed our minds-- something about driving for 3 days straight with 2 whinning kids and a screaming baby in the back seat.  I'm so glad we did.

We were a little worried about Maren-- altitude can be an issue with these heart kids-- but she did great!  She was a little blue for a couple of the days we were in Boise, but I think that had more to do with the fact that she fell in the lake where Uncle Rusty and Grandpa Richard took the kids fishing more than anything.  Good times.

Top 3 memories of the trip would have to be (in no particular order):

1. Playing games at night with Randy's mom and dad, Rusty and Jerianne, and then later with Ranie.  So much fun!

2. Crashing Rusty and Jerianne's getaway at Roaring Springs Water Park.  The best ride was the Half Pipe.  The second time we stood in line for it we noticed there was a wet dollar bill stuck about half way up one of the sides of the ride.  It became a game to see who could get the dollar.  There must have been at least a couple dozen pairs of people go before us, each failing their attempt to grab the dollar bill.  When Randy and I got to the top we made our plan.  When it was our turn, the lady pushed us over the side.  We went down, then up, and then on our way back down I reached my arm over the side of the raft-- just like we planned-- and I grabbed the dollar.  I heard Rusty yell from the top of the ride, "She got it!" while I screamed over and over, "I got it!  I got it!"  It was pretty much the best day of my life.  Okay, that's not true, but it was a lot of fun.

3.  Dillingham Jeopardy.  2 hours of one-liners and inside jokes from Dillingham past.  Yes, it was as amazing as it sounds.

Oh my gosh, I love my family!  I can't wait to see everyone again!!!  Here are a few pics:

Randy LOVES sitting outside when it's a billion degrees, holding hot babies.

Grandpa Bill putting a worm on Maren's hook.

MaryBeth trying to make out with me before Dillingham Jeopardy.  I told you it was awesome.

Henry in the sprinkler at Uncle James' house.  Best. Sprinkler. Ever.

This is out of order, but I can't figure out how to move it.  Um, Maren fell in.

Fishing with Grandpa Richard and Uncle Rusty... before falling in.

Henry's fish.  Good job, Henry!

Things might be wrapping up, here.

Nice, Kath.  Keep it clean, please.

James' fish.  Good job, James!

MaryBeth making out with Aren's fish.  Yeah, she's kinda gross.

James, Ben, Emma, Mom, MaryBeth, Kath, Me.  We're only missing Don :(  The best part of this picture is Mary giving Mom a Wet Willie.

Maren.  She's so cute :)
